Ewa Langer is a materials engineering specialist and a graduate of Chemical Technology at the Silesian University of Technology. She has been professionally affiliated with the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute for Engineering of Polymer Materials and Dyes since 2006. Currently, she leads the Paints and Plastics Research Group at the Centre for Paints and Plastics in Gliwice.
Her work combines scientific expertise with implementation and managerial experience. She specializes in the development and testing of advanced coating systems, synthesis of novel components for paints and plastics, and implementation of innovative technological solutions in industry. She has extensive experience in R&D project management as well as team leadership.
Her scientific achievements include over 70 peer-reviewed publications, more than 100 conference presentations, 6 granted patents, and 16 patent applications. She is also a co-author of products awarded the Golden Laurel of Innovation (2020) and the Silesian Innovator (2022). She has completed multiple research stays at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) in Stuttgart (2021–2024).
Ewa Langer has participated in numerous national and international research projects as a project leader, work package leader, or team member, focusing on advanced materials, coatings, adhesives, and environmentally friendly technologies. She is also a member of the Technical Committee for Certification of Paint Products operating within a Product Certification Body. In addition, she serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal “Ochrona przed Korozją” (Corrosion Protection).
She actively supports the development of early-career researchers and promotes knowledge transfer between academia and industry.
In the RASCOS project, she serves as the Project Coordinator, WP2 Leader, and Mentor.
