The meeting was organized by the project coordinator – the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute for Engineering of Polymer Materials and Dyes – and brought together all consortium partners, including SPE Labs and EuroTube, as well as invited guests. The event marked the formal launch of the project implementation phase and enabled the commencement of direct collaboration among partners.
During the meeting, the project structure, division into work packages, key research and development objectives, and principles of cooperation for the coming months were discussed. The partners also presented their planned substantive contributions and agreed on the fundamental organizational and technical assumptions for project implementation.
The RASCOS project focuses on the development of sustainable coating technologies, including systems based on bio-based raw materials. An important aspect of the work is also the development of solutions for automated defect detection and coating repair, targeted at applications in concrete infrastructure as well as future transport systems.
As part of the meeting, participants also had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the research infrastructure of the Institute’s Toruń branch. The visit included selected accredited laboratories and technology halls associated with materials technologies.
The presentation of the research facilities enabled partners to gain a better understanding of the available expertise, equipment, and ongoing development activities. It also provided an opportunity to identify potential areas of synergy among consortium partners in the context of implementing the objectives of the RASCOS project.
