Marzena Nowicka-Nowak holds a PhD in engineering and is a specialist in the field of paints, coatings, and functional polymer coatings. She is professionally affiliated with the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Polymer Materials, where she works in the Paints and Plastics Research Group at the Paints and Plastics Centre in Gliwice.
In her research work, she combines expertise in chemistry and materials engineering with practical experience in the formulation, testing, and evaluation of coating products intended for various substrates, including steel, wood, mineral surfaces, and zinc coatings. She specializes particularly in anticorrosion, fire-retardant, anti-graffiti, functional, and environmentally friendly coatings. In her public LinkedIn profile description, she presents herself as an expert in the testing of varnishes, paints, and coatings for various substrates, as well as in coating formulation.
Her achievements include scientific and technical publications, patent applications, and granted patents related to, among others, fire-retardant, anticorrosion, antistatic coatings, and solutions for duplex systems. She is a co-author of a patent concerning a flame-retardant coating composition cured by UV radiation and has participated in numerous research and development projects focused on advanced coating materials.
In her work, she particularly values solutions that combine durability, functionality, and environmental responsibility.
Actively engages in the popularization of science and technology communication. Delivers lectures, conference presentations, and educational activities, demonstrating that paints and coatings are not merely protective layers, but advanced materials that can have a real impact on safety, infrastructure durability, environmental protection, and quality of life.
In the RASCOS project, is involved in testing coatings developed based on bio-renewable raw materials.
